Sterke schouders
Created for Wdka, student work
Co-director, Producer & Graphic design

For this group project, we had to critically examine an outdated tech advertisement and connect it to broader themes of technological and societal change. We chose a 1980s boombox, once a symbol of progress and youth culture. We recontextualized the boombox within today’s urban landscape, linking it to gentrification through Rotterdam’s Sterke Schouders program (an initiative aimed at attracting higher-income residents to low-income neighborhoods).

We produced everything ourselves: from developing the concept, writing the script and creating the storyboard, to filming and post-production. Throughout this project, I gained valuable insight into the entire creative process and during this period, we strengthened our teamwork skills.
